PRESIDENT’S LETTER - DECEMBER 2022
Our inaugural membership meeting in Dallas, TX, was exactly what I had hoped for; a free-flowing sharing of ideas and collaboration amongst the membership across the supply chain. Discussions ranged from the R&D of new mold technologies to regional recycling and the beginning stages of establishing more standardization industry-wide.
The bulk of the conversations was led by current board members from a pressing plant point of view, and the feedback from the general membership, comprised of representatives from pressing, printing, cutting, plating, and raw material suppliers, was extremely positive. The sense of community and the willingness to share strategy and best practices for the good of the group was inspiring!
When we founded the VRMA, it was with the principal idea of taking action through collaboration, advocacy, standardization, and education. This initial meeting started us on the right path, and now, the action will need to come from you as a member in the form of committee involvement.
● ACTION 1: Join a committee! Committee member registrations are available here, and we need your voice. The vinyl pressing landscape is changing quickly with more plants, heavy expansion, and new technologies coming online throughout the globe, and your committee involvement is the key to pushing us forward toward a sustainable industry.
● ACTION 2: Spread the word! The more members, the better, so tell a colleague and get those fence-sitters off the fence.
Have a great Holiday break, I hope you get some much needed rest.
Looking forward to seeing you all on a committee Zoom call soon and in person, in June 2023, for our next meeting before the Making Vinyl Conference in Minneapolis, MN.
All the best,
Dustin Blocker
President, VRMA
